Small cap and mid cap stocks list
Mega cap stocks, on the other hand, tend to shift in numbers. There were 17 of these stocks in existence in 2007, but that number shrunk to less than five by 2010 due to the 2008 mortgage meltdown and the Great Recession. In 2017 and 2018, mega cap stocks have made a resurgence and behemoths such as Apple (AAPL) Also, the mid-cap companies have been there in the business for a long period for avoiding any blunders which are usually made by the small-cap companies. Stocks of the mid-cap companies are underfollowed in the stock market when compared with the large-cap stocks. The stocks that make up the U.S. stock market are divided into three main categories — large, mid (medium), and small — based on the market capitalization of companies. Market cap, as it's known, refers to a company's value as calculated by multiplying its shares by its current stock price.
